Three guys and a girl in Malate
Since it was a friday night, the question for the night was what to do. We really didn't wanna go home yet so we decided to have dinner first. Next question, where are we going to have dinner? Augs suggested that we have dinner somewhere other than Makati. Dinner anywhere else other than Makati...hmmm...then he suggested Malate. Blue Frog!!! That was the first establishment name that came into my mind. The two guys were ok with my suggestion. Decided to invite other people who were still at the office. Asked Rene, Tabel, Cookie and Franco. Cookie was heading home, Rene still had to work, Tabel said she already ate with Doths and Franco said he was sleepy and tired but with a little convincing he finally gave in. =)
So it was Augs, Dennis, Franco and me for the night. We headed out to Blue Frog in Malate. Traffic wasn't so bad heading to Malate. We got there in a couple of minutes. Augs wanted to sit by the window so that we would have a view of the street. The server was kind enough to place two tables together to accommodate the four of us.
I took the liberty of ordering the appetizers...camembert and foie gras. Augs wanted to live a little and decided to order the house red wine. The guys decided to order steak but not after they let loose of their "jolog" selves. There was actually a point when I was contemplating on just eating alone (just kidding guys!). I ordered my usual roquefort salad. We had a good dinner...they kept on waiting for the "sabaw" to arrive...had a good laugh with the antics of the guys. =)
After dinner, we decided to look for a place where we could have a few drinks. We walked around the area until we got to the Remedios circle. Couldn't find a good bar. Dennis suggested that we just head on over to Baywalk. We headed back to the car and drove to find parking near the Baywalk.
I've never been to Baywalk. Apparently, Augs and Franco haven't been there either. Baywalk is an interesting place. There are coffee shops, bars, henna tattoo stalls. There were also bands playing, mimes and guys who act like statues. We decided to hang out at Anthology. Looked at the menu, they only serve beer, cali, red wine and soda. According to the server, they can't serve hard drinks and the drinks are all in cans...well except for the red wine which comes in a glass. There wasn't any band playing had something to do with the electricity or something. Just found out that The Hobbit House is no longer in operations...too bad.
We stayed there for a while...watched the mimes, talked about the 80s again (a follow up to the 80s lunch conversation we had the other day), and watched the people walking in the area. It was getting kinda late so we decided to head back.
We dropped off Dennis at his house. As for us, we decided to head back to the office and get our things. Hanged around the office for awhile before we headed home.
Anyway, I'm home now...I really should get some sleep...still have to wake up early to go to a wake. So I guess this is good night...
